Short Profile

Dr. Sudhir K. Jain is Adjunct Professor and former Head of the Department of Management Studies, I.I.T. Delhi. Previously, he has served as Vice Chancellor, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra (J&K) during February 2013 to March 2016 and as Executive Director, National Institute for Entrepreneurship & Small Business Development under the Ministry of MSME (Govt. of India) during 2002-2003. He has published over 200 research papers in reputed international/national journals and conference-proceedings. He has successfully supervised about 30Ph.D. scholars and conducted over 100 Research& Consultancy projects and MDPs. He has also coauthored the book “Managerial Economics” with Prof. H. Craig Petersen and Prof. W. Chris Lewis of Utah State University (USA), published by Pearson Education. He has been a pioneer in IPR education in the country and has been closely associated with World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in various capacities. He has also been MHRD-IPR-Chair Professor for five years at IIT Delhi. He has also been Chairman or Member of several expert committees set up by the Govt. of India& various State Govts. on Entrepreneurship, IPR Education Policy, Higher Education, as well as different expert committees of UGC, AICTE, NBA, NAAC, DST, NIFT etc. He has also been Advisor, UPSC. Prof. Jain was Visiting Professor, Mongolian Technical University, Ulaanbaatar in 1996. He has extensively travelled abroad to about 35 countries for different academic activities. He is Fellow of Indian Society for Training & Development and has been Chairman of its Delhi Chapter and Vice President (North India). He has also been elected twice as Council Member of All India Management Association.
